Skaters Will Return to "Bullpen" for Two Games

The Nebraska-Omaha hockey team will be heading back to the "Bullpen" for a CCHA series in February, UNO Athletic Director David Herbster announced Tuesday.
Nebraska-Omaha will host the Michigan Wolverines on February 17-18, 2006 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Game times are scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
"This will be another great experience for both our players and fans," Herbster said. "Our program will have a chance to relive where the roots of Maverick hockey began and the atmosphere in that building will be electric with Michigan coming in that weekend."
The 14,700-seat Qwest Center, the Mavericks' home arena, will be host to the 2006 Nebraska State High School Wrestling Championships on February 17-18, spuring the weekend move for the Mavericks.
Season ticket holders will receive their tickets for the Michigan series in the season ticket package that will be mailed out later this fall. Season ticket holders will be placed in seats that are comparable to their seats at the Qwest Center.
UNO started Division I hockey in 1997 and played its first six seasons at the "Bullpen." The Mavs had 131 consecutive sellouts at the Civic Auditorium before moving to the Qwest Center in 2003.
Last January, the Mavericks returned to the Civic for a two-game non-conference series against Wayne State (Mich.) UNO swept the Warriors, 4-3 and 4-2.
