
No. 11 Mavs Host Home, NCC Opener Against AC

Nebraska-Omaha will bring a three-game winning streak and No. 11 national ranking into its first home game as the Mavericks host Augustana Friday at 4 p.m. at the Soccer Field at Ak-Sar-Ben. UNO is 3-1-0 and ranked first in the Central Region while the Vikings are 2-4-0. Both teams are playing their first North Central Conference game.
The Mavs had a pair of 2-1 wins at a tournament at Truman State over the weekend. Sophomore forward Brandie Beale scored the two game-winners and earned NCC offensive player of the week honors. UNO defeated Central Missouri in the final minutes Saturday then came back to defeat the host Bulldogs Sunday. All four of the Maverick games this year have been decided by one goal. The Vikings lost two games last weekend at a tournament hosted by Missouri Western.
The UNO-AC series has been dominated by the Mavs in the five years it has been played. Nebraska-Omaha holds an 8-0-0 all-time record against the Vikings and is out scoring them 50-5. The first two times the games were played UNO won with scores of 15-0.
