UNO Hits Road to Start NCC Play

The Mavericks begin North Central Conference play with road games at Augustana on Thursday and at No. 2 ranked North Dakota on Saturday. Both games start at 6 p.m.

The games will be broadcast, with David Gustafson calling the action. Thursday's game will be carried on KOZN, 1620 AM and Saturday's on KOIL, 1020 AM.

UNO had its school-record-tying 10-game winning streak ended at Colorado Mines and goes into the week with a 12-3 mark.
Coaching Staff
Head Coach Patty Patton Shearer is beginning her second season as the head coach at UNO and has a 26-17 mark. Overall in five seasons in college she is 86-66 She compiled a 60-49 record over four seasons at Fort Lewis College before becoming UNO's head coach in the summer of 2004. She is a 1990 graduate of Rocky Mountain College. Her assistants, all in their second seasons at UNO as well, are Jason Flores, Brad Schick and Maurtice Ivy.
The Opponents
Augustana is 11-3 on the season, with three straight wins, and is unbeaten at 8-0 at home. The Vikings are led by three double-figure scorers: Allison Adamson (13.6), Andrea Seefeldt (13.3) and Jessica Klein (10.5). Head coach Dave Krauth, in his 17th season, has eight letterwinners and three starters back from last year's 22-9 team. North Dakota is 16-0 before a home game Thursday against Saginaw Valley State. The Fighting Sioux, in coach Gene Roebuck's 19th season, return eight letterwinners and four starters from last year's 25-6 team that won the NCC regular season and tournament titles before losing in the second round of the NCAA II tournament.
