UNO Title Defense Begins Friday at Home

No. 1 ranked UNO will host the Central Regional Friday and Sunday in its quest to defend its NCAA II soccer title. The Mavericks learned Monday afternoon that they will host No. 4 seed Central Missouri at 2 p.m. Friday at Ak-Sar-Ben Field. Washburn will face Missouri Southern at 11:30 a.m. in the first game of the meet.
The regional championship match will be Sunday at noon at Ak-Sar-Ben.
UNO, 18-0-1, has not faced Central Missouri, which is 12-4-3, since last season when the Mavericks posted a 2-1 win. UNO is 7-0-0 all-time vs. the Jennies.
Washburn, 15-1-4, is the No. 2 seed in the regional and Missouri Southern, 11-4-4, is the No. 3 seed.
The Mavericks defeated Missouri Southern 5-0 earlier this season and are 5-0-0 vs. the Lions all-time. UNO has not faced Washburn since the 2004 season and is 2-0-0 all-time.
