Michigan Completes Sweep of Mavs, 5-1

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-Michigan's Brandon Naurato's two goals and Danny Fardig's two assists helped the Wolverines defeat Nebraska-Omaha 5-1 Saturday night at Yost Arena.
The Wolverines jumped ahead of the Mavs by two in the first period out-shooting Nebraska-Omaha 16-8. Naurato scored at 7:38 when the puck trickled just under Maverick goalie Jeremie Dupont. At 10:17 Brian Lebler had an unassisted wrist shot from the slot to put Michigan up 2-0.
David Rohlfs lifted Michigan to a 3-0 lead at the 4:38 mark of the second with an even strength goal from just outside the crease.
In the third period Saturday night's number one star Naurato scored his second goal with a wrist shot over Dupont's left sholder.
Nebraska-Omaha would not let UM goalie Billy Sauer end the night with a shutout. At 6:17 Maverick sophomore forward Adam Bartholomay put UNO on the board with a slap shot from the right circle on passes from senior forwards Scott Parse and Alex Nikiforuk.
With 11:46 left in the game Wolverine Tim Miller chipped his second goal of the season past Dupont to give Michigan the final lead.
The Wolverines outshot the Mavericks 43-33. UNO fell to 3-4-3 on the season and 2-3-1 in the conference and Michigan is 7-3-0 and third in the CCHA at 4-2-0. UNO's five-game road stretch continues this Friday and Saturday at Miami.
