Mavs' 3-Game Week Starts Tonight in Minnesota

Nebraska-Omaha will open a three-game week when it travels to Mankato Tuesday night to play a non-conference game against Minnesota State in the Midwest Wireless Center. UNO then returns home to resume Central Collegiate Hockey Association action against Notre Dame. Tuesday night's game is at 7:35 p.m. Game times at Qwest Center Omaha are 7:05 p.m. Friday and 7:35 p.m. on Saturday night against the Fighting Irish.
Media Coverage
The games will be broadcast on KKAR, 1290 AM, with the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before faceoff. Greg Harrington will call the action, with Terry Leahy providing color commentary.

The Mavericks were 3-6-3 overall before playing a non-conference game at Minnesota State on Tuesday. UNO is 2-5-1 in the CCHA. Minnesota State is 3-9-0 on the season. Notre Dame is 9-2-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the CCHA. The Fighting Irish are ranked No. 5 in this week's USCHO.com/USA Today poll.

The Duluth, Minn., native is 147-177-40 at UNO overall and has a 79-95-30 record in the CCHA. Kemp is 8-8-3 vs. Notre Dame. Troy Jutting is 98-119-28 in his seventh year as the Minnesota State head coach. He is a 1987 MSU graduate. Jeff Jackson has guided Notre Dame to a 22-21-5 record in his second season behind the Fighting Irish bench. Jackson, a 1978 Michigan State graduate, was 13-19-4 in 2005-06, his first at the school. Overall, he had a 204-73-30 collegiate record in seven-plus years. He is 1-0-1 vs. the Mavericks.

The Mavericks scored first Friday night on Brandon Scero's eighth goal of the year just 1:16 into the game, but Miami answered with four straight goals en route to a 7-3 triumph in Oxford, Ohio. Jeric Agosta and Tomas Klempa added goals for the Mavericks. The second night the RedHawks' Ryan Jones scored on a shorthanded breakaway with less than four minutes remaining to give Miami a 2-1 win. The RedHawks broke open a scoreless game with a third-period power play goal. UNO tied the game midway through the period on Alex Nikiforuk's fifth goal of the season.
