Christensen Named 3rd Team AVCA All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Carlie Christensen became the 13th player in school history to be named to the AVCA All-America squad announced today, as she earned third-team honors after garnering honorable mention accolades in 2005.
Christensen, a 6-0 junior middle blocker from Omaha, is also a two-time all-North Central Conference and AVCA all-Region selection. She led the NCC this season in blocks (1.34 bpg), ranked second in hitting percentage (.367), and was eighth in kills (3.61 kpg).
Christensen, who earned all-tournament team honors at the Missouri Western Ramada Inn Invitational and the Washburn Lady Blues Classic, led the 2006 Mavericks with 361 kills, 119 blocks and a .375 hitting percentage which ranks fourth on the all-time UNO single-season charts.
The Mavericks finished the season with a 21-7 overall record, advancing to the NCAA II Tournament for the third-straight season.
