UNO Closes Regular Season with Sweep Over SCSU

OMAHA, Neb. -- Playing in her final match at the Sapp Fieldhouse, senior Christina Reicks led UNO with 19 kills, four digs, and three blocks as the 17th-ranked Mavericks closed out the regular season with a 3-0 (30-22, 30-26, 30-26) sweep over St. Cloud State Saturday afternoon in North Central Conference volleyball action.
The Mavericks, who have won six-straight matches, improved to 21-6 overall and 8-4 in the NCC. St. Cloud State dropped to 8-22 and 1-11.
Freshman Ellen Thommes continued her strong play, collecting 11 kills on .526 hitting, while adding four digs, and three service aces. Junior Carlie Christensen contributed with 11 kills and a match-high four blocks in the victory.
Stacie Wemhoff, who was also playing in her final home match, led the Mavericks defensively with a match-high 15 digs.
Junior Katie Agnew guided the UNO offense to a .277 attack percentage, dishing out 45 assists, while registering eight digs and one service ace.
The Mavericks, who are currently ranked No. 3 in the North Central Region, will await word Sunday of the pairings for the NCAA II North Central Regional to be held on Nov. 9-11 at the site of the No. 1 seed. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Tournament.
