
Mavericks Cruise Past Calumet, 109-40

HAMMOND, Ind. -- The Mavericks shot a sizzling 68 percent from the field the first half, then cruised to a 109-40 non-conference win over Calumet College Sunday. The teams will meet again Monday afternoon at 1 as UNO completes its final road trip before a holiday break.
UNO won its fifth straight game to improve to 9-1 on the year while Calumet fell to 3-11. The 109 points is the second-highest ever by a UNO team.
Lacey Geitzenauer hit all seven of her shots the first half, including a pair from behind the three-point line, and led UNO with 21 points. Cayla Hargrove added 18 points and Karen Thies had 10 points, six rebounds, six assists and six steals.
The Mavericks, who outrebounded Calumet 57-18, finished the game shooting 59 percent from the field.
