Mavs Sweep Past Calumet for 6th Straight Win

HAMMOND, Ind. -- Ashley Freerksen scored 16 points, Karen Thies 15 and Lacey Geitzenauer 14 to lead a balanced Maverick offensive attack in an 81-42 non-conference win Monday over Calumet College that extended UNO's winning streak to six games.
The Mavericks, now 10-1, will be off for the holidays until playing in the Dec. 29-30 Metro State Holiday Classic in Denver. UNO meets Adams State in the first round and host Metro State the second night.
UNO, which thumped Calumet 109-40 Sunday afternoon, jumped out front 43-20 the first half and coasted to the victory as 11 players got into the scoring column. UNO shot 42.3 percent from the field for the game.
Calumet, which was led by Lauren Nakoff's nine points, fell to 3-12.
