Parse Named CCHA Defensive POW

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- Senior forward Scott Parse was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's defensive player of the week for his performances in the University of Nebraska at Omaha's two-game sweep over Bowling Green State University this past weekend.
After an injury to a defenseman Friday night against Bowling Green, Parse was forced into defensive duty Saturday night. Parse tallied a three-goal hat trick, added two assists and was +5 in the Mavericks 7-1 victory over BGSU.
Parse did play offense in Friday's 4-1 win against BGSU and added one assist giving him a six-point weekend and a rating of +6.
Parse's five-point defensive night tied a school record set by Greg Zanon who had one goal and four assists while playing defense against Merrimack on November 30, 2002.
Saturday night was the second time this season that a UNO player has had a five-point night. Senior forward Alex Nikiforuk had one goal and four assists in the 10-1 win over Niagara on October 20th.
