
Scoring Spree Continues as Mavs Win, 95-55

The University of Nebraska-Omaha put on another shooting display Tuesday night, defeating Peru State 95-55 at Sapp Fieldhouse.
All 12 Mavericks players scored at least one basket and grabbed at least one rebound. But once again, it was Karen Thies who led UNO (7-1), scoring 24 points, hitting 7-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. The reigning co-NCC Player of the Week also added seven rebounds and five assists.
Alyssa Green added 13 points, Cayla Hargrove scored 12, and Lacey Geitzenauer chipped in 11. Ashley Nelson was the leading rebounder with eight. Nelson also scored six points, recorded two assists and two blocked shots.
The Mavs held a commanding 55-27 lead at halftime, as they shot a stout 56 percent from the floor. Thies had 18 points and five rebounds at the intermission.
Peru State (2-11) was led by Jennifer Epting with 17 points.
UNO returns to action Saturday night at 6, taking on York College. The Mavericks will then take a week off for final exams, resuming play Dec. 16 at Mt. Mary.
