York is Next Test for High-Scoring Mavs

UNO and it's high-powered offense host York College Saturday night at 6 at Sapp Fieldhouse, with the Mavericks looking to stay undefeating at home, and improved to 8-1 overall on the season.
The Mavs handily dealt with Peru State Tuesday, crusing to a 95-55 win, their fifth in a row on home turf. In their seven wins this year, the Mavericks have averaged 85.4 points per game. They still scored 75 in their only loss, to Nebraska-Kearney.
All 12 Mavericks players scored at least one basket and grabbed at least one rebound against Peru State. But once again, it was Karen Thies who led UNO, scoring 24 points, hitting 7-of-11 from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. The reigning NCC co-Player of the Week also added seven rebounds and five assists.
After Saturday's game against York, the Mavericks will be out of action for one week for final exams.
UNO will return to action the following Saturday in Milwaukee, taking on Mt. Mary, then Monday in Gary, Ind., facing Temple Baptist. After another break for the holidays, the Mavericks go to Denver for the Metro State Holiday Classic.
