Mavs Pound Ichabods, 16-1

TOPEKA, Kan.--Nebraska-Omaha pounded out a season-high 18 hits in a 16-1 win over Washburn University on Thursday afternoon. The game was called after seven innings due to the 10-run rule.
UNO (14-6) jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first three frames and followed with a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth innings. James Adams and Chad Leon led the Mavericks offensively. They each belted two homers and combined for seven RBIs.
Brian Frew and Tyler Cloyd also chipped in two RBIs apiece as the Mavs had nine extra base hits in the contest.
Josh Lundin (3-0) allowed one unearned run over five innings to pick up the win and struck out six Icahbods.
UNO's next action will come at the Holiday Inn Express Tournament in Warrensburg, Mo., on Friday. UNO is scheduled to face Emporia State at 10 a.m. and Central Missouri State at 4 p.m.
