Mavs Sweep Gorillas in Doubleheader

PITTSBURG, Kan.--Josh Lundin fired a complete game three-hitter to lead Nebraska-Omaha to a 3-2 win over Pittsburg State on Friday. The Mavericks completed the doubleheader sweep of the Gorillas with a 6-1 victory in the nightcap.
UNO scored three runs in the third inning on an RBI single by Evan Porter and a two-run single by Derrick Kendrick. Lundin walked two and struck out six to improve to 4-0 on the year.
In the second game, Chad Leon was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Tyler Cloyd drove in two runs for the Mavs. Lyle Lafountain, Min Sung and Evan Porter each had two had two hits a piece. Tim Huber picked up the win for UNO, tossing five innings and striking out six.
UNO (17-7) will face Missouri Southern in a doubleheader on Saturday in Joplin, Mo.
