Mavs Extend Win Streak with Sweep

ST. JOSEPH, Mo.-The Nebraska-Omaha baseball team extended its winning streak to a season-high six games with a doubleheader sweep of Missouri Western on Sunday, winning 13-3 and 9-5.
David Bodnar collected seven hits in the twinbill and drove in five runs. Lyle Lafountain had six hits and also had five RBIs as UNO improved to 21-7.
UNO erased a 2-0 lead in the opener by plating three runs in the second and third innings. Bodnar's three run homer in the second inning put UNO ahead for good.
Missouri Western led 3-0 after the first frame of the nightcap but the Mavs scored in every inning after the first. Shawn Smith earned his third save of the season, throwing 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
