Kapels Named to All-Region 2nd Team

Maverick senior guard Calvin Kapels has been named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II North Central Region second team by a vote of the region's sports information directors.
Kapels, who led the Mavericks in scoring, was earlier named to the all-North Central Conference team for a second straight year.
The Columbus, Neb., native averaged 15.6 points, 4.1 assists and 6.8 rebounds per game the past season for the Mavericks. He finished his career as the all-time leader in steals and at No. 12 in career scoring with 1,102 points.
The North Central Region includes the schools in the NCC, Northern Sun and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
