Svoboda, Kuster Earn NCC Honors

Maverick teammates Leslie Svoboda and Cheris Kuster swept North Central Conference player and pitcher of the week honors for their performances last week.
Svoboda, a sophomore third baseman from Lincoln, Neb., batted .615 and drove in five runs in UNO's four NCC games last week. Her totals included two doubles and her 13th home run of the season, and she scored three runs. It is the third time this year she's won the honor.
Kuster, a junior from Roca, Neb., pitched two complete games, both wins, and gave up just one earned run in 14 innings, giving up six hits. She struck out 24 and walked one in a 5-0 win over Augsustana and a 3-2 win over North Dakota.
