2006-2007 Class Expands to 6

Head coach Mike Kemp announced today that Mark Bernier, Nick Fanto and JJ Koehler have signed national letters of intent to play hockey at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2006-2007.
Bernier, 6-1, 185, from St. Paul, Minn., has four goals and 16 assists in 60 games as a defenseman with the USHL's Tri-City Storm.
Fanto, 6-2, 200, out of Dearborn Mich., plays for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL. Through 60 games, the forward has 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points along with 38 penalty minutes.
Koehler, 5-7, 165, from Colgate, Wisc., has tallied 24 goals and 26 assists for 50 points with 64 penalty minutes in 59 games as a forward for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL.
The three recent additions expand next year's recruiting class to six. Jeric Agosta, Jeremie Dupont, Eddie Del Grosso all committed early to Nebraska-Omaha.
The Mavs also signed two forwards, Blake Martin and Rich Perslow, for the 2007-2008 season. The two recruits join Eric Olimb and John Kemp for two years down the road. Both Kemp and Olimb signed with UNO last fall.
Martin, 5-8, 165, from Anchorage, Ak., plays for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL.
Perslow, 5-10, 165, out of Greenlawn, N.Y., is a member of the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers.
"I am very pleased with this entire recruiting class," says Kemp. "We feel each one of the recruits has an upside and have yet to reach their full potential. They have the ability and skill to be major contributors to our program."
