Minnesota State, Mankato Blasts UNO, 18-2

EMPORIA, Kan. -- Minnesota State, Mankato sent 14 batters to the plate in the second inning, scoring 10 runs and then cruised to an 18-2 win over Nebraska-Omaha at the NCAA II Central Regional on Friday night.
UNO (44-13) now faces elimination and will meet Missouri Western State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Nebraska-Omaha starter Nick Russell (5-3) was tagged with the loss. The senior from Omaha, Neb., did not make it out of the second inning, surrendering eight runs on seven hits.
MSU's Marc Dolenc led the offensive attack with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate while driving in four runs. Ben King (6-4) picked up the win, scattering five hits over eight innings.
UNO's Marc Centofante drove in both of the Maverick runs.
