UNO Honored For Academic Excellence

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced recently that Patty Patton Shearer's Maverick basketball team earned a spot on the WBCA's 2005-06 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
The Mavericks cumulative grade point average of 3.372 ranked 17th among all NCAA Division II squads, according to a WBCA press release.
Senior JJ Smith and junior Karen Thies each earned academic all-North Central Conference honors this season as the Mavericks finished with a 20-11 overall record and a 5-7 mark in the NCC. It marked the first 20-win season for the Mavericks since the 1991-92 season.
In addition, junior Toni Kinsey joined Smith and Thies on the 2005-06 NCC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
