Mavs Open NCC Play at No. 5 UMD, MSU

The 12th-ranked Maverick volleyball team (10-2) will open North Central Conference action this week when they head to Minnesota to take on fifth-ranked Minnesota Duluth (11-2) on Friday, Sept. 15 and Minnesota State, Mankato (9-3) on Saturday, Sept. 16. Both matches begin at 7 p.m.

The Record
The Mavericks are currently 10-2 on the season after going 3-2 last week. Nebraska-Omaha picked up a four-game road win at Wayne State on Tuesday and then went 2-2 at the Washburn Lady Blues Classic. The Mavericks defeated Fort Hays State and Emporia State for the second time this season. No. 4 Truman State swept UNO in three games to snap the Mavs nine-match season-opening win streak. UNO then concluded the tournament with a tough four-game loss to tournament host, ninth-ranked Washburn.

In the CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Sept. 12, Nebraska-Omaha was ranked No. 12. Minnesota Duluth is the only other NCC school ranked as they enter this week's competition at No. 5.
