Mavs Pick Up First NCC Win at St. Cloud State

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Senior Christina Reicks recorded her team-leading 11th double-double of the season as the 16th-ranked UNO Mavericks picked up their first North Central Conference victory of the season with a 3-0 (30-21, 30-27, 30-24) win against St. Cloud State Saturday afternoon at Halenbeck Hall.
Reicks finished with a team-high 14 kills to go along with 10 digs, one block and one service ace. Junior Carlie Christensen recorded 13 kills and a match-high four blocks. Freshman Ellen Thommes was the third Maverick in double figure with 10 kills on .421 hitting.
Junior setter Katie Agnew dished out 44 assists and collected nine digs while guiding UNO to a .291 attack percentage, compared to .119 for the Huskies.
Senior libero Stacie Wemhoff led the UNO defensive corps with 15 digs and a match-high four service aces as UNO held a 51 to 45 advantage in digs. The Mavericks also outblocked SCSU 8 to 3 in the match.
UNO improved to 12-5 overall and 1-3 in the NCC. St. Cloud fell to 6-13 and 0-4.
The Mavericks will next be in action on Tuesday, Oct. 3 when they host Northwest Missouri State beginning at 7 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
