Mavs Return to Home Ice to Face Bowling Green

Bowling Green will be UNO's opponent on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12-13, as the Mavericks return home to Qwest Center Omaha after a month's absence. The CCHA games will both begin at 7:05 p.m.
UNO Athletics has announced that it has partnered with Sam and Louie's (76th and Cass) to provide fans with "Puck and Pizza" for the remaining regular season home games. Fans have the opportunity to purchase four lower bowl tickets to any remaining regular season home game, and a large one-topping pizza from Sam and Louie's for $50. This is a savings of over $25.
Fans can call 554-MAVS, stop by the ticket office located in the Lee & Helene Sapp Fieldhouse or Sam and Louie's located at 7641 Cass to purchase the package.
"We are excited to provide an additional opportunity for our fans to purchase athletic director Tom Frette. "The Sam and Louie's on 76th and Cass has been a great partner of ours, and their location and service are second to none."

Media Coverage
The games will be broadcast on KKAR, 1290 AM, with the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before faceoff. Greg Harrington will call the action, with Terry Leahy providing color commentary. Nebraska Education Television (NET) will televise Saturday's game on NET1 statewide. The telecast will also be picked up by CSTV nationally.
The Records
The Mavericks are 8-9-6 overall entering this weekend's play and carry a 5-7-2 CCHA mark into the series. Bowling Green is 5-17-1 on the season and 3-12-0 in the CCHA. This is the second two-game series of the year for the two teams. UNO claimed 4-1 and 7-1 victories at Bowling Green on Dec. 1-2.
The Coaches
Nebraska-Omaha's Mike Kemp is in his 10th season as the Maverick head coach. Kemp is a 1975 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. The Duluth, Minn., native is 152-180-43 at UNO overall and has an 82-97-31 record in the CCHA. Kemp is 13-8-2 vs. Bowling Green. Scott Paluch is in his fifth season behind the Falcons' bench. The 1991 BGSU graduate is 53-99-19 over that span and is 5-6-1 against the Mavericks.

The Mavericks lead the series with Bowling Green, 13-8-2, after recording 4-1 and 7-1 wins Dec. 1-2 in Bowling Green this season. In Omaha, UNO holds a 9-5-1 edge in the all-time series.
Last Games
The Mavericks came away with a tie and a loss in their trip to Lake Superior State. The Lakers scored four third period goals Friday to overcome a 3-0 UNO lead in the third before the teams skated to a 4-4 draw in overtime. Adam Bartholomay, Eddie Del Grosso and Tomas Klempa staked UNO to a 3-0 edge after two periods, but the Lakers tied with three goals in just 2:37. Mick Lawrence then gave UNO a 4-3 lead at 12:38 before LSSU tied with just under two minutes left. Saturday, UNO held a 1-0 lead on Scott Parse's first period goal before the Lakers rallied with two third period goals and a 2-1 lead. Parse tied the game in the closing minutes, but LSSU's Josh Sim scored 99 seconds into the extra session for a 3-2 win.
