Mavs Play Two to Start New Year

The Mavericks kick off conference play Thursday at Sioux Falls Arena, taking on Augustana at 6 p.m.
UNO started NCC play on the Vikings' home court last year also, falling 80-64. Karen Thies led the Mavericks with 24 points.
After the Augustana game, the Mavericks will have a nine-day break from conference play. They will fill the gap by hosting Southwest Minnesota State on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Senior guard Karen Thies could reach 1,000 points for her career at UNO this week, as she currently stands just 21 points from the milestone.
