UNO Hosts No. 3 UMD, Travels to No. 10 Augustana

The University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team (9-6/2-2 NCC) will face key matches this week against the top two teams in the North Central Conference. The Mavericks will host league leader, No. 3-ranked Minnesota Duluth (17-1/4-0 NCC) on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse. Nebraska-Omaha will then travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. on Saturday, Oct. 6 for a 7 p.m. match at 10th-ranked Augustana (14-5/3-1 NCC).
The Record
The Mavericks are currently 9-6 overall and 2-2 in the NCC after splitting a pair of matches last week, losing a hard-fought five-game match at No. 22 Nebraska-Kearney on Tuesday, before rebounding with a four-game NCC win over South Dakota on Friday, handing the Coyotes just their third loss of the season.

In the latest CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Oct. 1, Nebraska-Omaha received votes. North Central Conference schools in the top 25 included: Minnesota Duluth (3), Augustana (10), and Minnesota State (14).
Christensen Reaches 1,000-Kill Mark
With her second kill against Northwest Missouri State on Sept. 19, All-American Carlie Christensen became the 16th player in school history to record 1,000 career kills. The senior from Omaha has now tallied 1,061 kills to date.
