No. 10 Augustana Sweeps UNO

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The 10th-ranked Augustana volleyball team handed the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks their second-straight loss with a 3-0 (30-19, 31-29, 33-31) victory in North Central Conference action Saturday night at the Elmen Center.
With the loss, the Mavericks fall to 9-8 overall and 2-4 in the NCC. Augustana improved to 15-6 and 4-2.
Senior Carlie Christensen led the Mavericks with 14 kills on .462 hitting while adding four blocks. Ellen Thommes added 12 kills and two blocks. No other Maverick reached double digits in kills.
Defensively, the Mavericks were led by junior Annie Rice's 22 digs.
UNO led 26-19 in the third game, but five Maverick attack errors and four kills by the Vikings' Cayla Schroeder help Augustana escape with the win. Schroeder led the Vikings with 18 kills and 14 digs.
The Mavericks will be idle until next Saturday, Oct. 13, when they entertain North Dakota beginning at 6 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
