Elkhorn Standout Signs with Mavericks

Men's basketball coach Derrin Hansen has announced that Elkhorn High School standout Josh Lynch, who led Class B in rebounding in 2006-07, has signed a national letter of intent to attend UNO and play for the Mavericks next year.
Lynch, a 6-8 senior forward-center for the Antlers, averaged 11.7 rebounds and 11.2 points per gamelast season while earning all-Eastern Midlands Athletic Conference honors, despite playing with a shoulder injury that required surgery after the season.
He also shot 56.7 percent from the field and averaged 1.7 blocks per game while helping to lead Elkhorn to its first state tournament appearance in 10 years and a 15-6 record.
Lynch, a third-year starter, is the son of Mike and Mary Lynch. His father is a former player at Nebraska-Kearney.
