Green Leads Mavericks to Fourth Straight Win

Alyssa Green's career high 23 points led the University of Nebraska-Omaha women's basketball team to its fourth win a row, 75-55 over Lincoln, Friday night at Sapp Fieldhouse in the UNO Thanksgiving Classic.
The Mavericks (4-0) led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a 12-2 lead to open the contest, with Green scoring nine. Later in the first half the Mavs went on a 12-0 run, highlighted by 3-pointers from Green and Ellen Majewski, making the score 26-8. UNO coasted to a 42-24 halftime lead, shooting 52 percent before the break.
Green started the second half with a jumper, then assisted on LaToya Wright's layup to extend the lead 22. The Mavericks would never lead by less than 18 the remainder of the game. Green would nearly get the double-double on the night, finishing with nine rebounds, leading the team, adding three assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Majewski finished with 12 points, with Amanda Brodsack adding 11 and Wright 10.
Lincoln's Quenita Washington was the game's high scorer with 24 points, adding seven rebounds. Stacey Smith led Lincoln (1-2) with nine rebounds, adding four points, three assists and three steals.
The Mavericks next play Saturday night at 6, taking on Missouri-St. Louis, who fell to Augustana, 76-46, earlier Friday.
