UNO Sweeps Huskies For Seventh-Straight Win

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 (30-26-30-20, 30-26) sweep at St. Cloud State Saturday afternoon, recording its seventh-straight win, while improving to 16-8 overall on the season and 8-4 in the North Central Conference.
With the win, the Mavericks assured themselves of a second-place finish in the final league standings. The Huskies fell to 10-19 overall and 2-8 in the NCC.
Senior Carlie Christensen led the Mavericks with 17 kills on .483 hitting while adding a match-high six blocks.
After missing Friday night's match at North Dakota due to a foot injury, senior Nicole McLeod returned to the starting lineup, recording 12 kills, four blocks, and six digs.
Sophomore Ellen Thommes was the third Maverick in double figures, collecting 12 kills to go along with two blocks.
Senior Katie Agnew directed the UNO offense to a .239 attack percentage while notching her 15th double-double of the season with 47 assists and 10 digs.
Sophomore Kayla Jansen and junior Annie Rice combined for 39 digs to pace the UNO defensive effort as the Mavericks held SCSU to a .176 hitting clip for the match.
The Mavericks will now await word of the NCAA II Tournament pairings which will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 11.
