Mavericks Finish Exhibition Slate with Loss to Hus

LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Nebraska-Omaha women's basketball team finished out its exhibition schedule with a contest against Nebraska-Lincoln, won by the Huskers 78-50, Monday night before 1,182 fans at the Devaney Center.
Cayla Hargrove led UNO in scoring for the second game in a row with 18 points, with 14 coming in the second half. She also tied with Alyssa Green for the team lead in rebounds with eight.
The Mavericks struggled offensively in the first half, making only three of their first fifteen shots. But they finished the half strong, scoring 10 in the last three and a half minutes, as the Huskers led 39-21. UNL's tough defense forced 20 first-half UNO turnovers.
The second half saw the Mavericks improve some in the shooting department, but the team finished the night at 29.6 percent. Green scored 10 points on the night, with Amanda Brodsack adding five, and Lindsey Klug, LaToya Wright and Ellen Majewski chipping in four each.
UNO did hit 4-of-11 3-point attempts, for 36 percent, and 14-of-18 free-throw tries, for 78 percent.
Danielle Page led the Huskers with 20 points and nine boards, adding four blocked shots.
The Mavericks open the regular season at home Nov. 15 against Dana.
