Mavericks Host Minnesota State Tuesday

Nebraska-Omaha will host its first of three non-conference home games as it takes on Minnesota State in a Mavericks vs Mavericks showdown Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 7:05 p.m. CST at the Qwest Center Omaha.
Media Coverage
The games will be broadcast on KKAR, 1290 AM, with the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before face-off. Greg Harrington will call the action, with Terry Leahy providing color commentary.

UNO now stands at 6-8-3 overall and 4-7-3 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Conference. Minnesota State is 7-6-3 overall and 3-6-3 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
The Coaches
Nebraska-Omaha's Mike Kemp is in his 11th season as the Maverick head coach. Kemp is a 1975 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. The Duluth, Minn., native is 168-195-48 at UNO overall and has a 94-108-36 mark in the CCHA. Head Coach Troy Jutting has been with Minnesota State since 2000 and has a115-135-37 overall record with the MSU Mavericks and is 9-1-3 against UNO.

Minnesota State leads the series 12-5-3. They have gone 8-0-2 against UNO in the last ten meetings. The last win for Nebraska-Omaha was Feb. 28, 2001 in Omaha.
Last Meeting
Last season the two teams skated for extra minutes in both of the meetings, UNO went 0-1-1 in those games. MSU last visited Omaha Jan. 16, 2007 and upset the Mavericks 3-2 in overtime.
Last Week
UNO split the series with Union College with a 3-2 overtime loss Friday night and a 4-2 victory Saturday night in Schenectady, N.Y.
