Mavericks Take on the Ivy League

Nebraska-Omaha hosts Yale and Princeton of the ECAC in a Friday-Sunday series at the Qwest Center Omaha with both games starting at 7:05 p.m. CST.

The games will be broadcast on KKAR, 1290 AM, with the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before face-off. Greg Harrington will call the action, with Terry Leahy providing color commentary.
The Records
UNO now stands at 7-8-3 overall and 4-7-3 in the CCHA and Yale is 4-3-3 overall and 3-2-3 in the ECAC. Princeton is 5-7-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the ECAC.
The Coaches
Nebraska-Omaha's Mike Kemp is in his 11th season as the Maverick head coach. Kemp is a 1975 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. The Duluth, Minn., native is 169-194-48 at UNO overall and has a 95-108-36 mark in the CCHA. Yale coach Keith Allain is in his second season with the Bulldogs and has a 15-20-6 record. Guy Gadowsky is in his fourth season with the Tigers and has a 33-54-9 record.

UNO leads the series against Yale 2-0-1. The two teams have met in three different locations, Denver, Colo., Omaha, Neb. and New Haven, Conn. Princeton holds the advantage over Nebraska-Omaha 3-0.
Last Meeting
The Mavericks skated for extra minutes in the last meetings with both the Bulldogs and Tigers. Princeton defeated UNO 3-2 in overtime and Yale knotted 4-4 with the Mavs.
Last Week
UNO split the two-game series in Schenectady, N.Y. with Union College and defeated Minnesota State at the Qwest Center Omaha. Union won 3-2 in overtime and Saturday the Mavericks rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win 4-2. Nebraska-Omaha netted a team record of five power-play goals in the 6-3 victory over Minnesota State.

The Mavericks head out on the road for a Saturday-Sunday series against Western Michigan in Central Collegiate Hockey Association play Jan. 5-6 with the puck drop at 6:35 p.m. CST and 3:05 p.m. CST.
