Yale Tops Nebraska-Omaha, 6-3

OMAHA, Neb. -- Yale's Broc Little scored three goals in the third period to lift the Bulldogs past the Mavericks, 6-3, in non-conference action Friday night at the Qwest Center Omaha.
A crowd of 6,702 were on hand as UNO welcomed the first of two Ivy League visitors to the Qwest Center Omaha this holiday season. UNO (7-9-3)will play host to Princeton on Sunday Dec. 30, faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Mavericks fell into an early hole when Chris Cahill beat UNO goalkeeper Jerad Kaufmann just 1:09 into the first period giving Yale a 1-0 lead.
UNO captain Bryan Marshall evened things up, 1-1, with a power-play goal at 9:02 of the first, and Jeric Agosta's goal 22 seconds later pushed the Mavs out front, 2-1. Brandon Scero and Mick Lawrence assisted on Marshall's marker, while Matt Ambroz and Nick Fanto had the helpers on Agosta's goal.
Yale's Sean Backman's goal at 16:55 of the first tied the game, 2-2, heading into the intermission.
Dan Swanson gave UNO the lead back at 5:19 of the second frame. Assists came from Bill Bagron and JJ Koehler. But the Bulldogs were able to come back and tie the game at 3-all before the second intermission on a Denny Kearney goal at 11:31 of the second.
Yale came out and dominated the third period. The Bulldog's freshman forward, Broc Little, scored all three of Yale's goals in the third to push them past UNO, 6-3. Little collected a natural hat trick with goals at 1:26, 2:01, and an empty netter at 19:36 of the third.
