Mavericks, Irish Skate to a 2-2 tie

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- Two late goals from sophomore forward Dan Charleston and junior forward Bryan Marshall helped Nebraska-Omaha force a 2-2 tie with Notre Dame Saturday night in Central Collegiate Hockey Association play in front of a capacity-plus crowd at the Joyce Center.
The Mavericks are now 13-13-8 overall and 10-10-4 in the CCHA while Notre Dame is 24-5-4 and 18-3-3 in the conference. The Mavs will host Ohio State Friday at the Civic Auditorium at 7:05 p.m. CST.
Notre Dame's Noah Babin put the Irish up 1-0 at 4:23 of the first period. The next goal did not come until just over 40 minutes of play later when the Irish's Erik Condra tipped in a shot at 4:44 of the third stanza.
UNO cut Notre Dame's lead in half at 15:48 with a goal from Charleston making it 2-1 with the assists going to junior defenseman Phil Angell and freshman forward Jeric Agosta. Marshall made it a 2-2 game at 18:17 off of assists from junior forward Mick Lawrence and freshman forward Nick Fanto.
