Thies Earns Nebraska Player of the Week Honors

Senior guard Karen Thies has been named the Nebraska Division II Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Thies, a 5-4 guard out of Durango, Colo., scored a career-high 36 points Saturday, leading the Mavericks to a 102-80 victory over Minnesota State. She tied a school record with seven 3-pointers. Two days prior, Thies scored 13 points with six assists and three rebounds in a two-point loss to St. Cloud State.
UNO plays its final regular season home game against North Dakota Saturday. The women tip off at 2 p.m., with the men to follow at 4 p.m.
