Thies and Majewski Earn Academic Honors

Senior Karen Thies and sophomore Ellen Majewski have been recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom as well as the hardwood, being named to the Academic All-North Central Conference team and the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine All-District teams.
Thies, a guard from Durango, Colo. majoring in business, earned a spot on the All-NCC team for the second year in a row. She was also named to the All-District second team, as voted on by Sports Information Directors around the region. She has achieved a 3.78 GPA so far in her collegiate coursework.
Majewski, a guard from Greene, Iowa majoring in physical therapy, made the All-NCC time in her first semester of eligibility. She has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA so far. Majewski earned a spot on the All-District third team.
Last year Thies joined then-senior JJ Smith as UNO's representatives on the All-NCC squad.
