
UNO Rallies to Beat Alaska, 4-3

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Junior forward Bill Bagron netted the game-winning goal in his home state as the Mavericks came from behind to defeat the Alaska Nanooks, 4-3, Friday night in Central Collegiate Hockey Association action.
The Mavericks are now 15-14-8 overall and 12-11-4 in the conference and Alaska fell to 9-18-6 for the season and 7-15-5 in the CCHA. The two teams will meet up again Saturday night in Fairbanks, Alaska at the Carlson Center at 7:05 p.m. AST.
Nebraska-Omaha scored first but the Nanooks retook control of the first period scoring three unanswered goals. Sophomore forward Dan Charleston's shot deflected off of a UAF defenseman at 1:37 to put the Mavericks up 1-0 with the assists going to freshman forward Jeric Agosta and freshman defenseman Mark Bernier.
Alaska made it 1-1 at 9:21 with a goal from Curtis Fraser and then Fraser netted a second goal for the Nanooks at 14:02. With 39 seconds left in the period Darcy Campbell scored on a power play.
At 7:16 of the second stanza sophomore forward Tomas Klempa scored a power-play goal with assists from sophomore defenseman Juha Uotila and Charleston. Junior forward Brandon Scero evened the score 3-3 with a power-play marker from junior forward Bryan Marshall and Uotila at 12:51.
Bagron scored the game-winning goal at 1:22 of the third period with the assists going to junior forward Mick Lawrence and a third assist from Uotila.
