Mavs Visit St. Cloud State in Playoff Opener

For the second year in a row, the University of Nebraska-Omaha men's basketball team visits St. Cloud State in the first round of the North Central Conference tournament, this Wednesday.

UNO got the No. 6 seed after finishing the season 12-15, 3-9 in conference play. The third-seeded Huskies defeated the Mavericks twice this season. St. Cloud took a 76-67 victory at Hallenbeck Hall on Jan. 27. A late run by UNO made it a two-point game with just over two minutes to play, but the Mavs struggled at the free throw line, enabling the Huskies to pull away.

St. Cloud also took a 75-62 decision at Sapp Fieldhouse on Feb. 8. The only highlight for UNO that night was senior Zac Robinson becoming the school's all-time leader in 3-pointers and breaking the 1,000 career-point mark. The Huskies put the game out of reach early in the second half with a 15-0 run, shortly after Robinson hit his record-breaking three.

Last year's playoff game saw the Huskies take a 96-84 victory at Hallenbeck Hall.
