Mavs Win Twice on First Day of Spring Trip

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha came up with seventh-inning runs twice Saturday to claim wins on the opening day of its six-day trip to the Rebel Spring Games.
The Mavericks defeated St. Joseph's 3-2 and Wayne (Mich.) State 2-1 to open the season at 2-0.
In the first game, Cheris Kuster held St. Joseph's to just two hits and Leslie Svoboda scored on a seventh-inning balk after reaching third on a walk, stolen base and throwing error.
In the nightcap, Amanda Bader drove in both runs with a double in the fifth and a single in the seventh.
UNO will continue its trip with games Sunday against Ashland at 8 a.m. and Lock Haven at noon CDT.
