Defending Champions Blank UNO

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Kristin Erb struck out 11 and shut down the Mavericks on four hits to lead defending national champion Lock Haven to a 2-0 win over UNO Sunday in the Rebel Spring Games. Earlier in the day, Ashland edged the Mavericks, 3-1, to even UNO's record at 2-2.
In the opening game Sunday, UNO took a 1-0 lead in the first inning before Ashland bunched all three of its runs in the fourth. Alison Jergenson and Sara Sortino each went 2-for-3 to lead a six-hit UNO attack.
Lock Haven scored both of its runs in the second, using a walk, sacrifice, two errors and a single off Cheris Kuster, who struck out seven in tossing a six-hitter.
UNO resumes action Monday morning, facing New Haven in games at 8 and 10 CDT.
