WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Three pitchers for No. 11 Central Missouri combined for a two-hit shutout, blanking Nebraska-Omaha 2-0 on the first day of the Holiday Inn Express Tournament Friday at Crane Stadium.
Singles by Matt Eikmeier and Matt Boro was all the offense UNO (2-5) could manage, though the team also drew six walks and two hit batsmen. Jarod Potts (2-1) went six and a third innings for the win, allowing one hit, walking four and striking out six. Brian Collins earned his second save, recording the final four outs, allowing no baserunners and fanning two.
Tyler Cloyd (0-1) had a strong outing on the mound for UNO, going seven innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on just six hits and one walk, striking out eight. Blake Denoyer hurled one scoreless inning, allowing one hit while whiffing two.
The tournament schedule was shuffled in anticipation of bad weather Saturday. UNO's games against Bemidji State and Upper Iowa have been bumped to Sunday, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
