Del Grosso Named to CCHA All-Rookie Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.- University of Nebraska-Omaha defenseman Eddie Del Grosso was named to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association All-Rookie Team announced by the league office today. The team was determined by a vote of the conference head coaches and will be honored at the 2007 CCHA Awards on Thursday, March 15, at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.
The freshman from Las Vegas, Nevada placed fifth among all rookies and all defensemen with 18 points (3-15-18) in 24 conference games. Del Grosso's total of 15 assists was one shy of Michigan senior Matt Hunwick's conference-leading 16 for defensemen, despite missing four conference games.
Joining Del Grosso on the CCHA All-Rookie Team are forwards Kevin Deeth, Ryan Thang and defenseman Kyle Lawson of Notre Dame and forward Mark Letestu and goaltender Riley Gill of Western Michigan.
Freshman goalie Jeremie Dupont was named honorable mention on the CCHA All-Rookie Team.
