Thies, Green Earn NCC Honors

The University of Nebraska-Omaha's backcourt duo of senior Karen Thies and freshman Alyssa Green earned North Central Conference honors for their efforts on the court, as voted by the league's coaches. Thies was named to the All-Conference team for the third straight season, while Green was named Freshman of the Year.
Thies, a 5-4 guard from Durango, Colo., averaged 15.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in conference games, both leading the Mavericks. She was named Nebraska Division II Player of the Week three times and NCC Player of the Week twice during the season. She started all 28 games this year, never missing a start in her three years at UNO. She leaves the school 11th on the all-time scoring list, second in 3-pointers, and in the top 10 in assists and steals.
Green, a 5-9 guard from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, started every game this year at the point. She scored 11.7 points with 3.0 assists in NCC games, ranking 13th and eighth, respectively. She added 3.6 rebounds per game, ranked ninth with a 0.84 assist-to-turnover ratio, and shot .449 from the field.
