Thies Named to All-Region Team

University of Nebraska-Omaha senior Karen Thies has been named to the Daktronics All-North Central Region second team.
Thies, a 5-4 guard from Durango, Colo., led UNO in scoring with 17.1 points per game, ranking second in the North Central Conference. She also led the Mavericks in rebounding with 6.0 per game, ranking in the top 10 in the conference.
She graduates ranked No. 11 on UNO's career scoring chart with 1,227 points, and as the only player with 1,000 career points who spent only three years at the school. She also ranks second in career 3-pointers (168), fifth in steals (204) and seventh in assists (289).
Other NCC players to make the all-region team were Erika Quigley of St. Cloud State, who was also named Player of the Year, and North Dakota's Kierah Kimbrough. Augustana's Alison Adamson and North Dakota's Ashley Langen joined Thies on the second team.
