Mavs Hit the Road Again

The University of Nebraska-Omaha baseball team is on the road again for four games this weekend. The Mavericks will visit Emporia State Saturday, March 10, for a doubleheader, starting at 1 p.m. UNO then takes on Fort Hays State for two, but with the Mavs' home field still unsuitable for play, the games will be at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo.
The Emporia State games will be broadcast over Teamline. Listeners may access the broadcast free of charge by clicking on the "Teamline Click to Listen" icon on the baseball page. All games on the upcoming Florida trip are also scheduled for broadcast, with Yano Mangiameli calling the action. Air time will be five minutes before the first pitch.
Emporia State is ranked No. 30 with a 7-6 record. Fort Hays State was 8-3 through Thursday, including two wins over the Mavericks last month.
UNO (5-6) is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Northwest Missouri State, 7-0 and 14-5. Tyler Cloyd was the star of the day for the Mavericks, throwing a five-hit shutout in the opener, then driving in five runs in the second game, including a grand slam.
The Mavericks will be spending spring break in a popular destination -- Florida. UNO will take part in the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers. The Mavs are slated to face Ashland for two games, Southwest Minnesota State for one, and Wayne State (Mich.) for two.
