Tyler Albers to Attend UNO

University of Nebraska at Omaha men's basketball coach Derrin Hansen announced Friday that Tyler Albers has accepted an offer of admission and will attend school next fall.
Albers, a 6-3, 190-pounder from Papillion, Neb., has spent the past two years at Fort Hays State and will be a sophomore at UNO with three years of eligibility remaining.
At UNO, he will join his younger brother, Mitch, who signed a national letter of intent with the Mavericks last November.
Tyler Albers set the career scoring mark at Papillion-La Vista High School with 1,128 points before it was broken by Mitch last season. Tyler earned all-state honors as a senior, averaging 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game. As a junior, he led the Metro Conference with 88 per cent free throw shooting. He was a four-year letterman in basketball and earned one letter in track.
At Fort Hays State, he redshirted as a true freshman and battled injuries his in 2006-07, his redshirt freshman season, appearing in just eight games.
