GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Leslie Svoboda collected four hits and drove in four runs and became UNO's career home run leader as the Mavericks swept a North Central Conference doubleheader from North Dakota, 5-2 and 9-0 Friday at Ulland Park.
UNO, which has now won 11 of its last 14 games, is 25-13 on the season and 7-3 in the NCC. North Dakota's records fell to 13-18 and 1-7.
Svoboda, a junior third baseman from Lincoln who hit a UNO-record 21 homers last year, had been tied with Nicole Vos (2002-05)on the career list with 30. She slugged her seventh homer of the year in the first inning of the nightcap to break the deadlock.
In the first game, the Mavericks erased North Dakota's early 1-0 lead with single runs in the third and fourth. Kellyn Kramolisch doubled home Alison Jergenson to tie in the third and Treightin Yates singled home Jenifer McDowell in the fourth.
Svoboda doubled home Jergenson and scored on an error in the fifth and Yates hammered her third homer of the year in the sixth.
Senior Cheris Kuster earned the win to improve to 12-5. She gave up 11 hits, 10 of them singles, but stranded 11 base runners.
