Cloyd, Frew, Weimer, Porter Earn All-Conference Ho

University of Nebraska-Omaha sophomore pitcher Tyler Cloyd was named North Central Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second-straight season. Third baseman Bryan Frew earned a spot on the All-Conference team for the second year in a row, while junior transfer Chris Weimer and sophomore infielder Evan Porter earned their first spots.
Cloyd, from Bellevue, Neb., went 4-0 with four complete games in five starts in conference play. His no-decision came in an 11-inning game in which he threw nine innings, allowing only one run. Cloyd posted a 1.54 ERA with 47 strikeouts.
Frew, a junior from Grand Island, Neb., batted .337 with two home runs and 13 RBIs in NCC competition, and led the conference in stolen bases and runs scored.
Weimer, from Iowa City, Iowa, led the NCC with a .425 batting average, .885 slugging percentage and 10 home runs. He set a school single-season record with 16 home runs overall on the season.
Porter, from Omaha, batted .333 with six home runs and 28 RBIs in conference games this season.
