3 UNO Players Named to All-Region Squad

Warrensburg, Mo. - Three players from the University of Nebraska at Omaha earned spots on the 2007 Daktronics All-Central Region baseball team, released Thursday. Pitcher Tyler Cloyd, shortstop Evan Porter and outfielder Chris Weimer were the Mavericks included on the team that was selected by the region's sports information directors.
Minnesota State University-Mankato's Jon Bjelland and University of Central Missouri's Josh Paul headlined the squad as the Pitcher and Player of the Year.
Central Missouri landed five players on the first-team while Minnesota State and UNO each had three named to the top squad.
The first and second teams were comprised of four starting pitchers, three outfielders and one of every other field position, including a relief pitcher.
